She is missing her right arm, and in its place sports a finely articulated prosthetic painted with decorative floral patterns. Loveless wears a glove over her right hand and expresses severe discomfort at discussion, acknowledgment, or exposure of the prosthetic whatsoever.
In the effort to procure it, she became indebted to the Yu Clan, and worked for them for some time before realizing her debt was more akin to indentured servitude. She does not seem keen on making good.
What she lacks in stature she makes up for in boldly cultivated presence and an emphatic ambition to become the best bladesinger in all of Asuvia, which she will telegraph to anyone in the vicinity as fact. She has referenced noble inclinations to Foes Quillspring, noting that her family has yet to arrange an engagement for her, and shows considerable technical proficiency in and understanding of illusion magic.
Despite an embarrassingly clumsy attempt to deflect their attention, she has an established and surprisingly familiar rapport with Yu Huang, to the point of calling them by their given name.
Following a run-in with Yu Atsushi, with whom Loveless has a decidedly more deferential relationship, the party was made privy to her given name: Xiulan.
