Zhilan

Zhilan exhibits expertise in her craft, poised but courteous, competent but humble. She was trained by Thanh and now practices shikar in the Yorukusuri Sect. In her own words, she is a bladesinger sponsored by the Yu Clan, and has warned that she is unable to help should she become aware of any affiliation with those the Yus have renounced.

Through her work with Liutubang, Zhilan has shown her dedication to be more than words alone. Even in the face of demons, Zhilan does not balk or falter, treats those under her charge with the utmost care and respect, and seeks to fulfill her duties even at the cost of her own safety.

Zhilan bears disfiguring scars on one arm, a combination of burns and lacerations. She typically keeps this concealed beneath a glove.

Within the Campaign

Liutubang first saw Zhilan in a dream, in which she mounted an ethereal horse to head towards a thick green fog. It was later learned that this was in a conflict against corruption demons, which she was later celebrated for. Zhilan was heavily praised for her bravery and competence, and in subsequent interviews humbly expressed it as her duty as a bladesinger.

Most of what Liutubang knows of Zhilan comes from Loveless' descriptions. Loveless has stated that Zhilan stole her opportunity to bladesing, and that she abandoned the family with their debts, bringing Loveless into the position of heiress.

Return to the City

Lau Zhilan returned to Límíng City in the month of Dylin, stating she was here to visit her family for Bellsfeit. Instead she became entangled in the trouble plaguing the city and assisting Thanh in their work as a shikarist. She met Liutubang to exchange notes on the growing situation, and established a means of contact to work together.

She later assisted Liutubang during the Ringmaster's attack. She requested their help in saving the performers trapped within one of the tents and helped them navigate an extradimensional space as well as fend off a possessed Hiss and transport them to safety.
