Liutubang first met Hiss in Deshela, when Foes introduced them after a show. They tagged along for the evening jaunt. At the time, they were somewhat perturbed by an injury suffered by A'darion, one that he was not recovering well from, forcing them to act as the ringmaster for the show.
Hiss Lightning
Description
Hiss is a performer in the Unknown. They run the circus alongside A'darion Crook, where Hiss operates as an acrobat, ringmaster, and show-writer.
Hiss is an old friend and now partner of Foes Quillspring.
Within the Campaign
Liutubang met Hiss when Foes Quillspring took them to the circus. After the show, the party was allowed backstage. Hiss joined them in Deshela, and rode the ferris wheel with Foes. Though they were friendly to the party, Hiss was preoccupied with a concern for A'darion, who has taken ill without signs of recovery.
In the Spirit Realm, the party met a young air genasi named Suryasta who bore a distinct resemblance to Hiss. They later discovered this was Hiss' younger brother.
In an attack on the city, Hiss was possessed by an infamous and powerful demon named The Ringmaster. They were forced to attack the party and killed Cheon Do-Yun before his unexpected resurrection.
Following the tragedy of their circus, Hiss took some time to recover. They have begun traveling Quyan with A'darion and a performing troupe to put on smaller shows.
History
Hiss grew up in a Pervasive Zone in Rajpathar. They were raised alongside Suryasta by their single mother. It was when Hiss was a young teenager that they decided to play a resentful prank on Suryasta, having them take a test of courage on a night of the The Ghost Festival. They sent Suryasta into a cave rumored to connect to the Spirit Realm, intending to scare them. When Suryasta did not return, Hiss went to fetch him. They found Suryasta bound in ribbons by Malegami.
Hiss turned and ran. Unable to face their mother and admit what had happened, Hiss left their home and made their way to the cities of Rajpathar. Eventually they met A'darion Crook. The two of them would travel together and form the idea of the Howling Circus, which would eventually become their reality.
