Madame Yu
The Yu Clan matriarch. She has been in command of the Yu Clan for approximately 30 years.
It is well known in certain circles that along with being the matriarch of the Yu Clan and a major investor in the Unknown industry, Ào-mei has a tight grip on the criminal underworld of Quyan.
History
Ào-mei took the throne of the Yu Clan at age 19, among the youngest of Clan leaders in history, following the assassination of Yu Honghui. The circumstances of her father's death have been debated, but largely considered a positive. Following Ào-mei's ascension to the seat of power, Límíng City has seen broad improvements in the city's economy and infrastructure, as well as a more stable criminal environment.
At age 22, Yu Ào-mei renegotiated her suspended engagement with Yamaguchi Akiko. The two were swiftly wed, and three years later had their first child, Yu Huang. Shortly following the birth of their second child, Yu Atsushi, Akiko fell ill and passed away. Ào-mei has taken no moves to re-marry since the death of her wife.
Relationships
Yu Akiko: Within the public eye, the relationship between Yu Ào-mei and Yu Akiko appeared affectionate. Ào-mei was a strong supporter of Akiko's career through their engagement and marriage.
Yu Huang: Behind closed doors, Yu Ào-me's relationship with her heir is strained at best. She is physically and verbally abusive towards Huang, both striking and insulting them for their disloyalty to the Yu Clan. Notably, Huang refers to her impersonally, as Madame Yu.
Yu Atsushi: As the more competent of her two children, Yu Ào-mei shows significant favor towards her second child. She is gentle with them in comparison to Huang, and readily praises their work. She places enough trust in Atsushi to have them head important investigations on the side of both the Yu Clan and Serpentine.
Yu Qiang. Little has been seen of Yu Ào-mei and her younger sister. Yu Qiang does not appear to have qualms about keeping secrets from her clan leader and older sister.
