Second Young Master
The second child of Yamaguchi Akiko and Yu Ào-mei. They are the younger sibling of Yu Huang.
Yu Atsushi is known to the public as the prodigious second heir to the Yu Clan. They are praised as intelligent and respectable and are expected to take a significant hang in the Yu Clan's business after college. Already, Atsushi is present in the organization and attendance of formal events and coordination with other Quyani and international powers. Their polite and friendly disposition leaves them well-liked by those of their caste, though some are unnerved by their more peculiar demeanor.
Less known is Atsushi's deep involvement with Serpentine. They handle matters of business and more physical jobs, often acting as the shot-caller despite their young age. In Serpentine, Atsushi is known as a heavy hitter and a brutal fighter. Though their reputation is one of excess violence, reality has shown Atsushi to apply it in controlled doses. Lethal force is a choice made and then executed. Drifting from their characteristic restraint is the evidence that something has gone wrong.
Within the Campaign
Liutubang first met Atsushi in Serpent Gardens as their escort to meet Madame Yu. They soon became a threat to the party in their pursuit and eventual abduction of Loveless. This is when Atsushi gained their respect for and interest in Do-Yun in response to his behavior during the conflict.
Liutubang's involvement with Atsushi extended into their investigation of Abokya's prophecy. While Atsushi investigated the Hellbenders, their movements intersected with Liutubangs. Though Atsushi was unaware of the party's identities at the time, they and their followers pursued Liutubang through the underground roads until shaken off.
Disturbed by the enchantment that had turned them away, Atsushi was vulnerable to Aigneas and Okita Takao who abducted them. Atsushi was used in a ritual and succumbed to the influence of Carnage and the Unknown opening around them. They were rescued by Liutubang and Huang. These traumatic events appeared to drive them into a spike in violence, later revealed to be lingering influence that had gone undetected in the aftermath.
Though still holding Liutubang guilty for their harboring of Loveless, Atsushi was willing to ally with some of their number. Atsushi willingly hired Cheon Do-Yun and Tamara Faridun as bodyguards for Huang while attending Unknown. Atsushi was defensive and suspicious, and berated the party for perceived failures. At its end, Atsushi stated in no uncertain terms that Liutubang was to stay away from Huang.
Their resentment of the party grew with time. Seeing that Do-Yun was unwilling to give up his bond with Loveless, Atsushi chose to cut him off. They encountered and unmasked Seung, but offered an alliance in the goal of punishing Do-Yun. Atsushi was able to split the party by luring Do-Yun into Seung's trap and using Mahin to pull Tamara away. Their plan was ultimately thwarted by the arrival of a demon, later identified as the corrupted form of Lau Peizhi, that drove them off.
Atsushi continued their campaign against Liutubang, taking their efforts to the public by calling for the arrest of illegal rogue shikarists. They manipulated Liutubang into combats to weaken them before pursuing with the city's full force. Here, Atsushi found their success in the arrest and imprisonment of Liutubang.
They were enraged by Liutubang's eventual acquittal and release. At this point, Atsushi withdrew from involvement with Liutubang. Eventually, the exacerbation of Huang's health and the present threats against them brought Atsushi to compromise with the party again. They offered a work contract to requisition Liutubang into Serpent Gardens during the latter half of the Four Petals Summit. Their fears were confirmed when demons launched an assault on Serpent Gardens.
In this chaos, Atsushi succumbed to the demonic influence that had been strengthening since the Blood Right. They were targeted by the Dread Orchestra as their Soloist. In their mania, Atsushi slaughtered dozens of the residents and employees of Serpent Gardens and later killed Tamara Faridun and Vic'tel Vianrodeth before being subdued by Cheon Do-Yun.
