Known HistoryFull name, Prince Vic'tel Tanxor Rumah Vianrodeth, he initially introducing himself as 'Chim,' the So-an Toan word for "bird," was born a prince, third in line to the throne of Rosone in the underdark. Given his stature and the relative safety of the capital city, Kamakavkaz, he has been noted as having minimal responsibilities during this time. Around the time Vic turned ten he began receiving dreams from an unknown entity, which would later reveal itself to be Adibo. Although he hasn't gone into detail, he's mentioned his parents, Amedha Vianrodeth and Olmus Vianrodeth were nervous about this development given the nature of many creatures in the underdark and were not fond of him mentioning it.
From then on, these dreams became more regular, showing Vic images of the surface and urging him to leave the underdark as a whole, summons he did not heed. Though he has mentioned his younger sister, Iniss Vianrodeth and himself would frequently discuss these dreams, her wanting to join him should he ever make the decision to leave.
Around the time Vic'tel was 25, a violent coup staged by an individual named Citryd hit the palace. Vic'tel was caught up in it, having been awoken by a dream from Adibo. Citryd killed him personally during the coup with a stab through his chest. In a vision given to the party later, Vic'tel already had the gut wound when the killing blow was struck.
In the state just after death, presumably before his soul fully passed on, Adibo reached out to Vic and offered him a second chance on the condition he would leave the underdark entirely. Vic accepted the terms and became a warlock for Adibo, brought back to life in a stupor outside the walls of Kamakavkaz. He made his way to the surface, a difficult and at times painful journey aided by Adibo's guidance.
Vic'tel emerged into the Voiceless Desert somewhere near the boarder of So-an Toan. Further urged on and sustained by Adibo, Vic'tel followed the river he emerged near until eventually succumbing to the heat and lack of food, collapsing near the river.
He was quickly found by a man named Vu Gian, a fisherman from a small village on the So-an Toan boarder. He retrieved Vic and transported him back to the village to be nursed back to health by his spouse, Vu Trinh, the village cleric and follower of Unknown. Once he'd recovered enough to regain consciousness, Vic was initially very closed off, unsure who to trust, especially in such a foreign land. Eventually, through use of the shared elvan language, they managed to get some vague details out of him, though he gave his name as 'Chim' after asking what to call a bird, an unfamiliar animal, but familiar symbol to him.
Vic spent roughly 2 years in the small village, slowly learning common and about the surface world as a whole. He additionally learned to live under much lesser means than he was used to, though he still appreciates and much prefers nicer things. He became friends with Trinh and Gian's daughter, Vu Liên, who fascinated Vic with the natural world of the surface. Training to be a cleric of Song Chet herself, Liên taught Vic about the funeral practices of the goddess. While in the village, Vic received very few if any visions from Adibo.
At the start of the campaign, Vic had only just left the village with desires to see more of the world than initially presented. This was especially true in that he began receiving visions again and started to build a desire to gain enough means to get revenge against Citryd for what was done to both himself and his family.
In The Game
Vic introduced himself to the party as Chim, keeping his identity secret, though not the fact that he had been killed. In combat, his magic from Adibo manifests as a transformation into a zombie-like form. This form, though accepted by the party, has been responded to with fear from others, something which troubles Vic.
Having started to dream again, Vic has grown more of an attachment with his patron, Adbio. In one such dream he seemed to be able to very superficially enter the dreams of the other members of the party, although he was not fully aware of this nor had control over it.
Later, Vic had a chance to meet some aspect of Adibo in an impossible tower. There also seemed to be another entity there, presenting with white opal rather than Adibo's black.
On visiting Prasit, Vic was reunited with his unofficial aunt and partner of his eldest sister, Acle Vianrodeth, Avdotya. Additionally he was introduced to his young niece, Brilae, who was born after the coup on the royal family. This meeting created tension with Fakir ChaeYasda, who is also from the underdark, though from the oppressed outer settlements of Rosone. This conflict only grew as Liuttubang agreed to move Avdotya and Brilae away from Prasit, where soldiers were presumably searching for them. Eventually, the tension prompted Vic to reveal his true identity.
Most recently, Vic has developed concerns for his control over his form of dread, having unintentionally killed someone while in that form. He has also grown concerned of Adibo's willingness to use him as a conduit for invasive magic that pries into the private lives of others. He wishes to find ways to curb both these things at the Mirror.
