Fakir ChaeYasda

Description

A Bloodhunter of the Jihui Sect, and head disciple of the Order of the Lycanthrope. Fakir is a young mentor within his sect whose primary duties involve training the junior disciples.

Fakir follows the veiling tradition of Bangrarian culture, having spent most of his youth in Prasit

Fakir holds a strict moral code influenced by his upbringing and his role as a shikarist. Despite his values, Fakir will pose himself as a cruel and intimidating figure while interacting with most outside of the Jihui Sect.

Abilities

As a lycanthrope, Fakir is capable of shifting into the form of a large wolf. He gains enhanced strength, sense, and durability, at the expense of some of his cognitive skill.

Fakir utilizes bloodhunting techniques in the form of blood rites and curses. He is attuned to the element of fire, and acquired the element of ice following an induced deviation.

Within the Campaign

Liutubang first encountered Fakir ChaeYasda on a hunt at a trading post. Fakir presented himself with a harsh persona and addressed the party coldly. Liutubang decided to pay Fakir to complete the hunt, but requested to accompany him. Fakir reluctantly agreed and coordinated Liutubang to assist with the hunt. Upon return, Fakir attended a date with Cheon Do-Yun

Their next encounter was at The Tower in Quyan. Fakir revealed himself as a lycanthrope during the combat they found him in. He and Nam Yoo-Jun would accompany Liutubang in investigating the White Tower and helped them survive the dangers within. Upon exit, they encountered senior shikarists from the Jihui sect, including Unknown.

Fakir continued to accompany the party until their arrival in Rajpathar. He continued to bond with Liutubang over the course of another combat against demons, a full moon, and a stop in Deshela in which Fakir was lured into a demiplane of Serien's design. After being rescued from this, Do-Yun and Fakir decided to go steady.

Liutubang would later visit Fakir and his family in Prasit on their return journey. Fakir also learned of Vic'tel Vianrodeth (Chim)'s identity and revealed his own related history.

Fakir parted ways with Liutubang again after meeting Cheon Yeong-Suk and then returning to the Jihui Sect. They would soon reunite as Liutubang traveled to Ira's Mirror to cure Do-Yun of an acquired curse. During this time, Fakir and his juniors were attacked by The Machinist. Fakir also revealed his history with Unknown and Suesuke

He would visit Liutubang in the city again for Do-Yun's birthday and a diplomatic visit to Serpent Gardens. His presence in the city allowed him to save Liutubang during the battle against the Devilfish by inducing a deviation. This event took a toll on Fakir's physical and mental health, giving him intrusive thoughts and emotional dysregulation. Fakir spent a long period of time withdrawn from others in the aftermath of his deviation.

Over time, Liutubang began to suspect that Fakir's memories had been altered at the time of Suesuke's deviation. When confronted with the possibility, Fakir allowed Do-Yun to cast a restoration. This confirmed his memories had been altered by Himesh. Fakir later learned that Suesuke had not died on that day when Liutubang had him scent a vial of lycan's blood from Unknown. His distress sent him into another, minor deviation.

Since that point, Fakir was able to reconcile with Jirawan and Unknown. He assisted Liutubang in planning against Himesh, and would invite them on a trip into the Spirit Realm. His fears were confirmed when Himesh attempted to kill Nam Eun-Ae. Fakir helped Liutubang in the combat that followed, and was instrumental in keeping Tamara Bhatt alive when a Jeonghwa shikarist stopped her heart.

History

Fakir was born in the Underdark in a decrepit outer village of Rosone. His mother, Yasda, led this village out of the Underdark when Fakir was five years of age. The majority of the village and both of Fakir's parents perished on this journey. Jihui shikarists, including Suesuke and Absolution, found them and escorted them to the surface.

Fakir's attachment to Suesuke and Absolution led them to continue visiting him. He decided to join the Jihui sect, and was told by Suesuke that he would be allowed at age 14. Until that time, Fakir led a troubled and lonely childhood as demons attempted to sway him down a malevolent path.

Suesuke kept his word and brought Fakir to The Mirror when he came of age. Fakir began training as a disciple and joined the Order of the Lycanthrope at age 16.

Around age 18, Fakir and his adoptive sister, Jirawan, accompanied both Suesuke and Absolution to a mission. The intel they were given by Himesh was false, leading to Fakir and Jirawan being caught in an opening fissure. Suesuke deviated during his attempt to rescue them and grievously injured Fakir. Absolution was able to intervene to heal Fakir and drive Suesuke away, but Fakir's memory of the event was altered by Himesh. Believing that Absolution had betrayed them, Fakir sank into resentment that deepened with Jirawan abandoned the sect.

Fakir became a mentor shortly after to help transition Suesuke's former disciples out of their care. He decided to remain in this role and was promoted to head disciple under Wen Yuxi
