Demons
Denizens of The Abyss, demons are crafted for the purpose of extinguishing all life. They are by nature chaotic and malevolent, delighting in death and suffering.
The most depraved of mortals may seek out a demonic deal, while the most unfortunate may find one forced upon them.
The Classification of Demons
Lesser demons are those of instinctive nature. They are not known to be capable of complex thought.
Greater demons are those with sapience and personality. They have the capability for abstract thought and foresight.
Grand demons are those capable of producing underlings. They are typically of great power, and have a connection with their spawn. Grand demons may be patrons to warlocks.
Demon Lords are the progenitor demons first crafted by Dhaos. These are considered apocalyptic threats as they once waged the Hollow Wars against all existence. There is a Demon Lord for each of the five aspects of demon: Tempus, Corruption, Carnage, Manipulation, and Fathoms.
Demons of Tempus are the most primal of their kin. They wield raw magical power and manifest in the form of natural disasters. Demons of Tempus are associated with inevitability. Their lord is Agrinach.
Demons of Corruption stem from the toxins of the world. They embody sickness, poison, and rot, and cultivate infection to torment their prey. Their lord is Theelsenat.
Demons of Carnage are born of pain and violence. They sow the fear of unpredictable slaughter and inspire bloody rages in those unfortunate enough to witness their presence. Their lord is Manaked.
Demons of Manipulation prey on the mind, utilizing subtle tactics that far contrast the other aspects. They impose control over their victims, sometimes without the strings ever being seen. Their lord is Marionesse.
Demons of Fathoms are the most obscure of their kind. They are compared to aberrations for their defiance of perception, warping reality until it breaks. Their lord is called No Name Can Hold Me.
