Límíng City Shikarist Ends Demonic Threat in Tawashi
The demonic plague in Tawashi has at last met its end. Thanks to Liming City’s own Lau Zhilan, alongside the Yorukusuri sect, the citizens of western Tawashi can finally — sometimes quite literally — take a breath.
The forests in the west were wreathed in a toxic cloud. Victims of the affected towns and villages were rendered comatose and tormented by nightmares. Resources were stretched thin to support the afflicted and keep them alive until the source of their plight was dealt with. To their relief, Lau Zhilan of the Yorukusuri sect led a team of shikarists to the heart of the plague.
“It was horrifying,” said Matsui Tokaji, one of the shikarists on the scene. “It’s hard to even call that thing a demon – it didn’t seem like a creature, really, more a malicious growth. It had rooted in a tree near the heart of the forest and spread like an infection. Everything was warped, stained strange colors and pulsing.”
“It wanted us to suffer,” Matsui concluded.
All those present agree on one thing: Lau Zhilan was the hero of the day. She lead her team to triumph, not just purging the corruption but returning home with several of those believed to be beyond saving. The four reclaimed survivors remain in recovery and under observation. Their families have offered fervent thanks for Lau and her team, alongside the residents of the Nyuzen territory.
When reached for comment on her victory, Lau had little to say: “Anyone would do it. When you see that kind of suffering, you can’t stand still. You have to help.” She offered her thanks in turn, saying, “The response has been humbling. I’m grateful to hear you, and honored to serve you. I of course need to thank my mother and pare, my sisters, and the Yu Clan. Without all of them – I wouldn’t be here."
Lau Zhilan embodied the ideals of a true bladesinger in both action and word. We can trust a shikarist of her standing meant it when she assured the citizens of Nyuzen that the Yorukusuri would continue to provide aid as they recover from this blight.
