Tales of Wandering Rabbits

A collection of stories written based on the adventures of Liutubang.

The Mired Child

This novella encompasses the party’s journey through The Blood Mire to retrieve Shouwèi Luoyang

In this story, a group of Shikarists travel to the Blood Mire at the behest of a famous actress whose son was taken while she was seeking inspiration for the character of her newest play.

While traveling, some details are revealed about our unusual heroes. Shota’s fear of the spiritual world being the most pressing issue. As the party journey deep into the Blood Mire and the Spirit World, they encounter the Shallow Heart himself who has an unusually stark hatred for Shota.

They encounter and free an angel named Remedy who scolds Glimmer for his callous questions. Finally, they find the child—Ān (安)—in an odd plant pod, along with a mysterious pocket watch…

Jilted Groom

This tale follows the first meeting with Fakir.

As the party returns to Quyan with Ān, Candor takes a particular liking to the child. The party argues briefly over Vee trying to give him a knife. Ultimately, Glimmer gives him a wooden sword to play with. After returning Ān, they debate on where to go next.

They decide to travel south on foot after hearing rumors of a mysterious ghost near Baotao. Along the way, Shota finds himself in possession of the pocket watch from the Spirit World. It begins a countdown only he can hear. The party discusses the issue, but lacking a proper way to deal with it decide to wait until later.

At the gates to Baotao, they encounter a group of mercenaries called The Pact led by a druid named Paitoon (ไพทูล). After some debating, Glimmer pays the fee on the town’s behalf.

The two parties then decide to dress up Banhi as a bride in a sedan in order to attract the eyes of the vengeful ghost. While they travel through dense fog, Shota and Paitoon strike up a flirtatious conservation. Before too many sparks fly, the ghosts arrive and are dispatched in short order.

Even as they leave the town, happy with their success, there are signs something isn’t right in Baotao… and it isn’t the ghost they’ve just placed to rest.

Lighthouse Key

This story covers the events which led to the first meeting with The Machinist.

The party decides to continue to travel south with The Pact after meeting up again in Baotao.

As they near [town name], they decide to rest for the night only to be awoken by screaming. Encountering strange geometry on their way to the tower, the party does its best to help the villagers before facing the tower which has arisen from nowhere and seems to be the source of the strange openings to other planes.

The group enters and encounters the Machinist, Adibo and another mysterious being. They barely escape after blowing up the main platform and sealing the tower. Other Pact members arrive to help care for the wounded and discuss what happened. Among the survivors is a boy named Jiahao (嘉豪) who seems to take a keen interest in the party…

Abandoned Monastary

This story recounts the first encounter with Ramaloch

While The Pact cleans up the events of the Lighthouse Key, the party takes a short detour to investigate a monastery in hopes of helping Shota with his curse.

Along the way, they encounter many demons and Shota is unable to wake from the nightmares they inflict. The party is able to help the remaining monks clean up the demons, but have a terrifying encounter with a high level demon who grabs Glimmer.

They barely manage to defeat the demon left to test them, exhaustion almost overwhelming them once the fight is through. Without answers on Shota’s curse, but able to rouse him with the help of the monks, the party leaves to regroup with Paitoon and The Pact.

On their way down the mountain, they begin to notice missing food. On high alwrt, the party manages to catch the culprit, Jiahao, the boy who had taken an interest in them.

He insists he’s fine, but cause a clash between Glimmer and Candor over his welfare. Eventually, the party decides to take him home, worried about what could have happened if he’d been caught by the demons at the monastery.
