'Pokemon' is the subtype given to creatures listed as Pokemon. For all intents and purposes, they are magical beasts where being a magical bast might matter.

  • A pokemon can have up to two elemental Pokemon templates applied to them at one time, according to their elemental affinity. Traits granted by these templates do not stack, unless otherwise indicated.
  • All pokemon can of course have natural templates like 'young', 'giant', and 'advanced' applied to them without issue. It's just the Pokemon Typing templates which are limited to two natural types per pokemon.
  • A man-made or augmented pokemon can have additional elemental templates applied to them.
  • Gigantimax pokemon use a gargantuan template.
  • Each Pokemon has 2-3 abilities exclusive to it's subspecies, granted at it's first HD. It can gain additional abilities for every 4 racial hit die it has. Abilities granted to a Pokemon through bonus HD should reflect the typing of the Pokemon and the role it serves.
  • Most pokemon have an 'evolution' point granted at specific HD, which allow it to 'evolve' into the higher stage form. A Base pokemon can only evolve into a Stage 1 pokemon, and a Stage 1 pokemon can only evolve into a Stage 2 pokemon. An evolution may require additional items or situations before it can be achieved. Evolution can grant an additional template, or replace one. ie: a normal type template could be replaced by a fire type template, rather than simply adding it.
  • Pokemon are capable of gaining class levels, but Hit Die granted through class levels do not grant additional abilities.
