Llewynfrid, also known as the Pearl of the Westlands, was one of the Thirteen Great Cities of The Empire. Now, many centuries later it is the last one to remain what it once was.
Located in the southern Westlands, at the confluence of the Whiterush and Emerald Rush rivers, it is the de facto cultural and political centre of the the whole of the Westlands. Officially it's just a city state with limited influence elsewhere.
Llewynfrid has since times immemorial been home to the Royal Academia, the foremost archive of knowledge and centre of learning in the known world. It is the ruling council of this institution that is the most influential group in the city's assembly, having the final say in most of the city's affairs and much influence all across the Westlands.
