Born in the decade following the Burning of Estivan, Ormir was born in an optimistic but hard period for the Silebor family. While Vulcanfer itself was unharmed by Arlak's Invasion much of its neighbours suffered greatly. It is in those first decades of his life that a hard but fair man was forged. He would suffer no fool squandering resources better spent on rebuilding the lands he called his home, and those of his allies, and would consider those who overindulge and waste resources to be beneath his notice.

Despite the fact that the destruction of those years has long past he still heavily disapproves of lavish lifestyles, a fact he often loudly reminds the members of the Osterai and Niveri families of. While the Silebor were never the staunchest supporters of the Kestari, he finds the new families in control of Blackstrum his most disdained opponents. While he hardly considers the nur Mael or Corvis allies, he holds much more respect for them.

Now, with his strength waning and death slowly approaching he finds himself somewhat disappointed in his heir, Cornath, and often can be heard complaining how good times make for weak men. Many speculate he might wish to pass on his title directly to one of his grandchildren, though who is favoured is a matter of pure rumour.
