The trip is tiring after a fight with a giant plant monster and it doesn't help that Dana Willowreed keeps stopping!
Tsev takes the time to teach her about plants.
The party arrives at the local tavern and manages to convince the innkeeper to start a endless bread and soup deal.
Thulkrim Craghollow and the innkeeper start a soup war.
The party is unsure where Ketta Yarrowleaf, Dana Willowreed and Alan Willowreed will be going? Just here to Merwald Downs or all the way back to Thraben. But they will need to hire a wagon. Dana seemed interested in the order.
The party notices that Rider's Lock is closed. The innkeeper complains about the lack of visits from one of her regulars, Sergeant Bran Korran.
The party investigates Rider's Lock and are surprised to find no one responding to them. They make a lot of noise but nothing responds to them.
The group walks around the waterless moat, investigating.
A few things the group notices:
- There is blood on some of the windows.
- there is an escape rope attached to a high window
- some windows have cracks in them.
- there are practically no bird life around
- Tsev and Feran find one crow who is covered in a black tar-like substance. It tells them that there are a lot of dead things inside and the food made it sick.
- There is a closed water gate in the back of the fortress in the moat.
The group decides that they must go in after a rest first.
Tsev goes back with Adolfo Sensario to pick up supplies for their camp and ale for Thulkrim Craghollow and let the villagers know where they will be.
Tsev hears a lot of coughing coming from some of the rooms.
The Innkeeper says that there has been sickness going around.
the party brings back the free soup from the innkeeper and handkerchiefs to protect from the sickness.

Everyone has a watch shift.
Feran sees a light moving inside Rider's Lock
Tsev walks around the keep and finds small footsteps at the camp location. Tries to call out to possibly Dana with no answer.
The group returns to the grate and finds it open.
