- The group spent the day prepping to leave the Village, purchasing supplies, and following up on a few leads. This included purchasing some gear from Bildrath's Mercantile as well as a few more pastires from Granny. Part of the group went to Mary's townhouse to speak with her some more about her missing daughter, Gertruda.
- During the night, the group was awoken and harassed by figures in the shadows outside. Both Domitrius and Caleb were unable to be woken. They were then visited by Lord Strahd von Zarovich himself. He seemed to be there to speak shortly with the Ismark and Ireena and left again promptly. He offered his condolences to the brother and sister, gave congratulations to Ismark on his new position as Burgomaster, and also offered Ireena safe haven in his castle.
- First thing in the morning, the party set off on the road to Vallaki. After 4 hours travel, they arrived at a crossroads with a gallows and a small cemetery. Where there was no one before, the group suddenly saw a woman hanging from the noose. After inspecting further, Carýll found this to be his wife. Her eyes opened wide and an unvoiced scream escaped her lips. As Caryll reached up to touch her, his wife dissolved into smoke and drifted away.
