- The party arrived at the Baron's Mansion to search the house with Izek Strazni and the guards. They were quickly able to find the family hiding in a closet upstairs. Izek ordered the group to go into the attic to fetch the Baron's son Victor and escort him back to the Church. Iolas was able to find Ireena locked in a small room and free her. She seemed shaken but ok and claimed that Izek just asked her strange questions and thought she was another, older woman he saw in a book.
- Part of the group went to find Victor while Caleb and Kirin rode the broom up to the third floor window to get in that way. Letting themselves in through the window, they spotted a faulty and sputtering teleportation circle with traces of what was assumed to be Victor's robes and blood. The others got quite the shock as they let themselves in through the booby trapped door. As the teleportation circle dissipated from existence, the noticed undead, skeletal cats roaming the room. On the desk, Caleb spotted a familiar spell book from his past. Searching the rest of the house, they were able to get their hands on quite a few books from the well-stocked library. After finding what they needed, the party lit the mansion on fire on the way out.
- Looking through the burning streets, they were able to loot from an unattended general store and also obtain some ammo from the barricaded family at The Cracked Anvil. The adventurers proceeded onward to Wachterhaus, but were unable to get anyone to respond to their knocks at the door. Caleb and Iolas flew up to the 2nd floor library and were easily able to get inside. Going straight to the room behind the bookshelf, Iolas began to pick the lock on the chest. Meanwhile, the others found a hatch leading to a basement under the house. They were allowed in and were met with a large group of hooded strangers, along with the family and house staff, all taking shelter in this space. Upstairs, a trapped lock inside the chest poisoned Iolas despite him being able to open it. Inside, Caleb grabbed a diary of the family as well as the Tome of Strahd. The party in the cellar were asked by Lady Fiona Wachter about the status of her request. After some uneasy conversation with her, the party regrouped and left Wachterhaus.
