Horses are large herbivorous mammals that belong to the family Equidae. They have long legs, a muscular body, a mane on the neck, and a long tail. Horses are domesticated animals that have been used by humans for transportation, work, sports, and recreation for thousands of years. They can run fast, jump high, and communicate with each other through sounds and body language. As with other Old World species, horses were introduced by trade (primarily with Malay sailors) around the year 1000 CE. However, their niche had already been partially filled in by the local Klongen.
