During the Second Boer War, the Australian Federation participated as an ally of the British Empire, its de facto colonial overlord. One of the Australian Army's most damning complaints was a lack of trained officers, for which the government began commissioning officers and sending them to train at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in Britain proper. Amongst these new officers one would find adventurous young Australian boys, but also a fair number of Aboriginals and Ferozen whose family upbringing as bannerets or warlords gave them the necessary skills to lead troops in combat. Unsurprisingly, these men scored much higher than their peers, and officers from these socio-military classes are still regarded as some of the finest in the continent. Ferozen leaders with the upbringing of a proper warlord are typically characterised by a duality between ice-cold planning and white-hot aggression (before and during combat, respectively).
