The National Rail Workers Syndicate is a worker-managed association of railwaymen, technicians, machinists and soldiers under the command of the Department of Transport. Its primary tasks are to operate, maintain and protect the National Rail & Road System's first half (the railways). NRWS workers not only have to work fast in dangerous, isolated regions like their partners in the Public Works Service, but they must also operate a whole train transport system preventing stoppages, robberies, heists, and any other situations which might unexpectedly emerge. Furthermore, the NRWS must procure its own fuel and other train supplies such as spare parts. Because of this, all rail transport incurs a rail fee depending on how much work is required; individual train tickets are pretty cheap, but moving bulk cargo is a different story. Trains operated by the NRSW will almost always contain at least one armoured traincar housing a considerable number of syndical troops and heavy artillery.
