Eingana was the first daughter of Bunjil and Gnowee, who after creating Earth's and its bountiful resources, entrusted this domain to Eingana and gave her the form of a rainbow serpent, so that she could traverse through the sky and swim under the soil, being wherever she was needed. Eventually she grew bored of the emptiness of plants and enlisted Barraiya, her cousin, to help her give birth to all animals.
During the Ferozen Invasion, it is said that she guided Australia's aboriginal survivors through the harsh Outback, protecting them from Ferozen warbands on their trail. The deed sapped so much from her strength that, once new cities had been built on the west coast, she retreated to the depths of the Outback and coiled her body, entering a deep sleep. Over many sandstorms, Eingana's resting body became Uluru, the Red Monolith.
She is the patron of hunters, miners, woodcutters, explorers, nomads, doctors and labourers, but is also important to peasants and farmers.
