The Dusk refers to the current period of world history, following Eingana's hibernation in the middle of the Outback. It is characterised by the absence of the gods' physical presence as it was in the past, only their influence is occasionally felt throughout the world, and only faint communication can be established by priests and shamans at times. Mankind has grown industrious, brutal, greedy and unbelieving, ravaging the land with ever more complex weapons and methods of warfare.
