The eta is a marsupial mammal native to Oceanyka. It is similar to a llama in exterior appearance but possesses large, pointy hooves which helps it traverse mountainous terrain (the eta is indigenous to the Great Dividing Range). These hooves are very sturdy and sharp, allowing an eta to stab an attacker in self-defence. Their shape also allows outrunning a few predators. Eta are grass-eating herbivores and very adaptable to climate. They have been used by the local population for their many utilities since the Neolithic Era. These animals produce Milk, Wool and Meat but are not particularly efficient at any of the three. Furthermore, their disposition is obedient and relaxed around humans. Such versatility and resilience have allowed them to compete with more specialised but weaker animals from abroad, like swine or cattle.
