The lela is a type of muzzle-loaded smoothbore cannon which was widely used by armies and navies across the Nusantara. Its bore is typically between 12 and 76.2mm and may fire solid shot, scattershot, or more exotic munitions. The true secret of the lela is in its versatility; it can be fit as field artillery, as a swivel gun, and larger ones may even be used as siege artillery. Many of these cannons made their way to Oceanyka beginning in the 17th century, becoming the dominant form of field artillery at the time.
