The T-54 is a Soviet main battle tank, the most widely produced of its kind in the world. It is essentially a complete overhaul of the T-44 project, improved in all aspects. Because of the threat that weapons of mass destruction pose, and the T-54s inability to deal with them, most of these tanks have been replaced by the T-55 in active service, with older T-54s left in reserve or exported. This variant includes an engine smokescreen (a common feature in future Soviet tanks), infrared night vision, a "Gorizont" gun stabiliser and improved internal systems. Oceanykans consider the T-54A a very capable modern tank, and for many city-states it is seen as a state-of-the-art vehicle, even if its availability is limited to those in favour with Soviet advisors.
