Hand mortars are muzzle-loaded grenade launchers which emerged in 16th century Europe. They were typically employed by specialist troops who "volunteered" to carry and fire what was at best a bulky implement and at worst a live bomb. Unsurprisingly, they were not popular with anyone except siege specialists. The hand mortar's fortunes changed during the Early Revolutionary Age, when it was imported to Oceanyka and reproduced wildly. Hand mortars were employed by every side of the Revolutionary Wars en-masse, with complete disregard of its potential for friendly fire and accidental suicide. Despite the dangers involved, a single platoon firing a volley of these weapons at a larger massed formation could annihilate it and then disappear into their own lines.

Guns for Gramps
-Antiquity-
This weapon is very old, and though many would call it obsolete, it will still drop a man dead. It benefits greatly from perks related to antique weapons.

Devil's Mortar
Hand mortars are extremely dangerous weapons, and not particularly popular in Europe. This was not the case in Oceanyka during the Revolutionary Wars, when entire "suicide platoons" of men would be armed with these weapons and sent to rain down fire on tight enemy formations or fortifications. Before firing, roll 1d6. On a 6, add an Easy DM to this shot, double its DMG and add +1 PEN (this also applies to its shrapnel). On a 2-5, carry on with the action. On a 1, the weapon explodes in the user's face.
