The GP-25 is a Soviet underbarrel muzzle-loading grenade launcher developed to improve the typical Soviet Army rifle squad's firepower. Development began in the mid-1960s following the transfer of a Colt XM148 Grenade Launcher captured in the Vietnam War to the Soviet Union. It fires 40mm VOG caseless grenades, of which a variety exist, but HE-Frag are the most common. Despite how quickly it was put in mass production, the GP-25 is a rare sight even in the late 1960s, being mostly seen in the hands of Spetsnaz operatives.
