Fusil Modèle 1886 "Lebel"

The Lebel rifle, officially Fusil Modèle 1886 "Lebel", is a French bolt-action rifle. It is chambered in 8x50mmR Lebel (the first mass-produced smokeless powder cartridge) and feeds from an 8-round tubular magazine, though with a round in the chamber and one in the elevator it can hold 10. The Lebel rifle's adoption marked a transition from black powder to smokeless powder, offering improved accuracy, range, and rate of fire compared to its predecessors. Despite its innovative features, the Lebel rifle's design became outdated by the Great War, but it remained in service with French forces well into the 20th century. A number of Lebel rifles can still be found in Oceanyka, though spare parts are becoming less common.
