Soviet attackers such as the Il-2 or Su-6 were known as the "Flying Tanks" by the troops due to their almost unnatural resilience to fire, perhaps equally attributable to the willpower of their pilots. Against rifle-calibre weapons which do 3d6 damage or below, add +1 ARM when rolling an Armour Saving Throw.
The Sukhoi Su-6 is a Soviet ground attacker which began displacing the Ilyushin IL-2 in frontline service in early 1942, in the midst of the Great Patriotic War. The mass-produced model (Su-6 AM-42) is powered by a Mikulin AM-42 high-performance engine, armed with a pair of Nudelman-Suranov NS-37 and a pair of ShKAS Machineguns for strafing soft targets, as well as a single rear-mounted Berezin UB for self-defence. Su-6 aircraft are heavily armoured and can take a lot of rifle-calibre fire before being brought down. It was said that when a regiment of Su-6s came out in full force, it could destroy a division finding itself in the open. As with other Soviet designs, a large number of Su-6s made their way to Oceanyka through official sales or black-market smuggling.
