The Kawanishi N1K1-J Shiden is a Japanese fighter used during the second half of World War II. Powered by the Nakajima Homare radial engine, the Shiden boasted a maximum speed of approximately 656 km/h. It is heavily armed with four 20mm Type 99 Model 2 Machineguns, giving it significant firepower. The N1K1-J Shiden was initially developed from the N1K1 Kyofu floatplane, but the floatplane parts were found to severely handicap what was otherwise an extremely potent fighter plane. Its advanced design and armament allowed it to effectively engage Allied aircraft, earning a reputation as a highly respected adversary in aerial combat.
