Semille Naemira Sindelain is the former Archmage of the Academie Arcane and Premier of House Sindelain. She is a formidable mage and mother of Seconde Amurellon Sindelain and Premier Ei'lianna Sindelain.
Appearance
Semille is a tall, wiry moon elf, with dark, cool-toned hair that she keeps wrapped in elaborate updos. While she has a penchant for finery, especially fine jewelry, she prefers to wear the robes of the Academie, which leave her arms relatively unburdened and grant her a substantial amount of elemental protection.
Personality
Semille is haughty and self-interested, even in the face of unlikely odds. She seems over-confident in her own abilities, powerful as they are, and waves her perception of her own superiority over others. Although she bows to the culture of honor and respect around her, she clearly resents it.
She appears to have little to no regard for the lives or health of others, including her own family.
Background
Early Life
It is implied that Semille and Elemissia knew each other as children (along with Lacora's mother), and grew up in the same circles. It's unclear if this relationship was previously favorable, or if Semille had been consistently manipulating Elemissia from childhood.
Semille grew up in the Academie, studying tirelessly with the goal of becoming Archmage and someday taking up the mantle of Premier. This would be her primary goal for many years, and would influence her relationships and hobbies.
Family
After marrying a fellow Academie mage, Semille would have two children, Ei'lianna and Amurellon. She would show favoritism toward Amurellon, due to his quick understanding of magical fundamentals, but always struggled in her relationship with her daughter, as the two would come to have little in common.
Abilities
Semille is a mage of wide and varied talents. During the Red Winter Massacre, she was shown to have command over powerful conjuration and evocation magic, and some aptitude with the magic of the Shadowfell. Her main talents seem to lie in the creation of wards, which she has continuously maintained throughout the city of Morravin as Premier, and powerful transmutation techniques, such as polymorphs.
She is also a keen manipulator of people, and seems relatively capable of getting whatever she wants through a combination of threats and persuasion.
Interactions
The Shadows of an Empire
Semille was a major antagonist during Aurumvorax's time in Morravin. Working behind the scenes, she would put the plans into motion that became the Red Winter Massacre, during which she commanded a large number of Sindelain mages to swarm the city and take control of the Illhad'orian council. Despite her best efforts, this attempted coup would eventually be crushed, though not until after Semille had attempted to kill Elemissia Alvaenis and taken possession of the Godmask of Dae'er, which she was able to use to learn potent spells. During the Massacre, she was revealed to have been communing with Three, who collaborated with her to replace Lacoraethiel Sel'simus Sylnaerith with a Simulacrum, as well as a few other key members of the rebellion.
