Amurellon grew up in the Academie, assisting his mother with various tasks and learning magical theory. This would ultimately strain his relationship with his older sister, Ei'lianna, even as it deepened his connection with his mother.

Amurellon's time in study at the Academie Arcane have granted him wide knowledge of conjuration magic and of the religious artifacts left behind in the Va'i Curse. He has headed several expeditions into the Lowlands, many of which brought him new items and information unknown to the wider world.

The Shadows of an Empire
Amurellon was an antagonist during the Red Winter Massacre. After Aurumvorax discovered him in the illusory maze beneath the Museum of Arcane History, he attempted to trap the party in the Shadowfell, but Aurumvorax were able to overtake him, eventually defeating him in battle and resurrecting him in order to use him as a bargaining chip against his mother.
