The city of Rison was founded in the year 200 TA, five years after the founding of the University. The city sprang up around the University. Eventually becoming one of the greatest cities in Erethiel. A hub of trade and culture overshadowed only by the Capitol in its grandeur.
The city has a population of over 200,000 souls. It sits on the banks of the Erian Lake. To the north, about a day's travel on horse, rise the peaks of the Novoski mountains, also known as the Path of Giants. Those who travel from the north on the Holy road of Erethiel. Will eventually travel through breakers pass, and if they keep on the road, they will see the shining spires of the University of Larian and domed city of Rison.
The University of Larian:
The University of Larian was founded in the year 195 TA, by the half-orc healer Larian Talivor. He wanted a place where one could study the humanoid body and that of other creatures,such as magical beasts, giant kin and so on. He wanted to find a way to heal the sick and wounded using not only magical means, but non-magical ones as well. A way for individuals of all kinds to come and learn, not only the healing arts, but subjects related to healing, health and longevity.
As the University grew, so did a city around it, eventually this would become the second largest city in Erethiel. The University itself is a small city within a city. Creatures from all across Barator have come to study here. Everyone is welcome, as long as they follow the rules of the university, harm no living thing and use what you have learned to aid others, and better the world of the living. The University is one of the few places on Barator where one can study the anatomy of all kinds of creatures, even the rare kinds such as dragon's.
The University also has a field of study in herbalism, alchemy, the study of divine arcane and of raw arcane. All related to better understanding and aiding the creatures of Barator.
