Parts of your character might call for specific "flavor requirements." 

• Low Self-Esteem- Colin always struggled fitting in at school. It was almost as if everyone around him knew he was different and knew what secrets he held and ostracized him for it. He had few friends and fewer places of comfort outside of his books, computers and those he connected with through shared interests and experiences. Due to the lack of social experiences, he cannot handle much contact with others, without having the connections to others, or at least many, he felt as if he was always in the wrong regardless of the social situation. 
• Answer the Call- Despite his lack of social graces and knowledge, those he forms bonds with, he holds them to the highest standards of loyalty. If they ever needed him for anything, regardless of time of day, or what they needed of him, he would be there for them as quick as he can. 
• Detect- When Colin underwent his first change, something, something awoke within him. As the transformation faded, something lingered. He had this hidden layer of smells that lingered, specific things triggered within him. Specifically the smell of his Aunt Lisa, a smell of the woods and forest, that lingered below the surface. The smells triggered images within him, that of a wolf, with a greyish brown fur coat. When he told his Aunt about this, she told him that he has awoken the ability to smell out other of their kind, if they are close enough.
• Vow- During the time after his parent's death/disappearance, he made a promise to himself that he would discover the truth behind his parents disappearance/deaths if it was the last thing he did. He owed it to them for raising him, putting up with everything he put them through over the years. 

Where are you from and what are you doing on the Isle of Luachmhar?
Colin grew up in the streets of Brooklyn, New York under his parents, Lucille and Patrick. They lived there for Colin's whole life, all 18 years of it. He was/is a introvert and a bit of a brainiac, delving deep into the maths and sciences and staying far away from the athletic fields. Much to Patrick's dismay and Lucille's joy. However, his parents loved him very much and spoiled him a bit but made sure he new the limits of his life. Until one day, his parents never came home after he got back from club activities after school. Hours passed before a knock came at his door where two cops stood outside and told him his parents had passed away. This almost breaks Colin as he goes into shock. A strange feeling overcomes him as he slams the door to his house harder than he intends to. The frame cracks as fire fills his vein, uncontrollable rage consuming him as he disappears out the back door of the house. He has no memories what initially occurred during his first transformation. All he knows is a day or two later, he awoke outside his Aunt Lisa's house. She informs him, after he is dressed and gets some food into him that she and his parents...and by transference, himself, are werewolves. She then explains that he was brought he as a child along side his parents due to disagreements back home. She tells him if he desires answers, he should go to the Isle of Luachmhar, where a significant amount of supernaturals reside. There he might find out why his parents were killed. 

colin takes his Aunt's advice and makes his way to the Isle to discover the truth about himself, his parents, and what exactly his role is to be in this whole new world that has been opened to him.
