Flynn Stoutfoot is a famous halfling historian best known as the author of the quintessential modern history books Geographica Terrania and The Complete Anthropology of Terrania.
In his youth, Flynn listened to the stories of wandering bards and skalds passing through his hometown. Inspired by their tales of far-off places, he set out at the age of 19 to explore the world. Over the next 8 years, he lived as a wanderer, poor in purse but rich in experience. Having satisfied his wanderlust, he returned home and settled down to raise a family.
Seeing the response of his children to the stories of his youth, Flynn once again felt the itch to travel. This time, though, he wanted to meticulously detail his accounts, so that he could share the beauty of Geographica Terrania, an account of the geography and ecology of the lands he visited, and The Complete Anthropology of Terrania, observations during his time spent in the company of the cultures of the world. Finally satisfied, he returned home in AL3954 a hero of halfling-kind. He spent his twilight years in leisure, passing away 7 years later.
His great-granddaughter, Anora Stoutfoot, is considered Flynn's spiritual successor. Picking up where he left off, Anora has published an addendum to his life's work, The Complete Anthropology of Terrania in the Age of Arcana.
