The Sea Maiden's Faire is a circus that travels along the Sword Coast North on three galleons, called "The Hellraiser," "The Heartbreaker," and "The Eyecatcher." The circus makes annual trips to Lantan, where they purchase fantastic inventions and nimblewrights to include in their parades and performances.
The Sea Maidens Faire is apparently owned by a human man from Luskan named Captain Zardoz Zord. In truth, however, Zardoz Zord is an alias and disguise of the infamous drow mercenary, Jarlaxle Baenre. Jarlaxle uses the circus as a cover for his mercenary work and piracy, and in addition to buying Lantanese inventions for entertainment, he also supplies some of his soldiers with expensive Lantanese flintlock pistols, including at least three of his lieutenants: Fel'rekt Lafeen, Krebbyg Masq'il'yr, and Soluun Xibrindas.
The Eyecatcher serves primarily as Jarlaxle's private yacht and is the most ostentatious of the three very ostentatious ships. The other two ships, the Hellraiser and the Heartbreaker, are used to transport performers, parade floats, and circus animals. Most members of the actual circus are human, though there is one Kenku member named The Bird. Other members include Jared, Margo Verida, and Khafeyta Murzan. The sailing crew and captains of the ships are all drow members of Jarlaxle's mercenary company, Bregan D'aerthe, magically disguised as human men.
