Ludmilla is the eldest of Strahd Von Zarovich's brides. Around 200 years ago, she went to Castle Ravenloft to ask Strahd to teach her magic. He agreed and she became his apprentice, eventually becoming a powerful wizard with a specialization in divination magic. She also sought immortality, which she obtained in becoming a vampire.


At some point, before marrying Strahd, Ludmilla had one or more children with someone else. As such, she has several descendants who are not related to Strahd, including her great-great-granddaughter, a seven-year-old named Arabelle.

Appearance

Ludmilla is a beautiful woman with dark brown skin, black hair, and golden eyes. She wears gold jewelry, including a gold tiara, and an old white wedding dress. She is very tall.

Personality

Ludmilla has a stoic, calculating personality. She is very intelligent and spends most of her time reading and studying a variety of subjects, especially involving magic. Though she can be cold, she seems to have a soft spot for children, or at least for her great-great-granddaughter, Arabelle. She keeps candy in her pocket to give to Arabelle, and once gave a piece of candy to The Bird as well. She also loves cats. She has at least 15 black cats.


Ludmilla's alignment was Lawful Evil, prior to being separated into good and evil halves by the Apparatus, only the former of which survived the events of Mordentshire.
