Four adventurers together — Drom, Turuk, Gan, and Servius — headed together to Tarren Mill. There, they met a priest named Zachariah, and a huntsman named Gideon Fletcher. Gideon wanted to ask the party to head off into the hills to his family's old manor house up there, to check up on his brother, who he feared was not in his best. Something mysterious was going on.
The party ventured forth there. On the way they encountered a travelling group, caught in trouble with their wagon stranded at the side of the road. Though the party managed to help the three with their wagon, they could not resolve any of the disputes that still left them stranded stuck.
Eventually they got to the manor, almost got ripped apart by ghouls outside the manor, but then ultimately saved by the lumbering figure of the estate steward.
The steward, Magnus, told the party that his master was happy to see them there. They were invited in the dining hall, where the master of the house — Dareau Fletcher, brother of Gideon — had already seated himself for a feast. The feast turned out to all be an illusion, and throughout it Dareau was making talk about a mysterious "Visitor" who he was expecting would join them soon.
