With only their own mounts to carry them, and what supplies they could acquire in Thunder Bluff, the party made way to the northern ends of Mulgore. There they would find The Stonetalon Pass that would take them north and to Sun Rock Retreat.
The journey started out well, and with little trouble. The sun was shining and all was well through Mulgore and up into the pass, though once they treaded way along treacherous mountain climbs, eventually they had to cross areas where recent avalanches had covered the path in snow and debris. With a mix of elemental magic, clever trailblazing, and brute strength on top, they managed to cut way through the troubles without too much time lost.
It took some time, but in the end the party managed to return to a proper road. The other end of the path was just ahead of the party -- as was a lone traveller waving at them. It was a tauren, a man who looked both exhausted and desperate for help. The party approached to hear of his plights, and he told them that the rest of his travelling party were struck by a landfall and were now stuck under some rocks not too far away. He was only thankful to have encountered fellow travellers so soon.
Eager to lend their aid, the party followed the tauren. He introduced himself to them as Ahanu, as they all went.
Once they reached the spot where Ahanu's companions should have been, the place seemed empty. Suspicions quickly rose, and the party decided to keep a close eye on their surroundings, noticing a number of tauren tracks that did seem to suggest some people had been here. Maybe they had managed to free themselves?
If only. What followed next was an ambush from a nearby hillside, as a group of Grimtotem Tribe tauren emerged to rain down crossbow bolts and call forth nature's wrath upon the party! A bloody battle followed, with the party eventually victorious. In the aftermath, after some arguing back and forth, the party chose to bury the slain tauren and put them to rest, after which they then made camp to discuss what had happened.
Bandits along scarcely patrolled roads were not too uncommon, and the Grimtotem Tribe did have a presence in the region. What little Yuma Stonehoof could confer about the group, they were a hostile tribe with little interest or reason to join the Horde -- and even looked at the horde as aggressors who had taken land from them in Stonetalon.
Next day after, the party continued their journey. Stormy clouds were rolling in ahead, and the rest of the trip was spent moving between the worst showers and using what shelter could be found until they could reach town. Between orcish towers and down a slope, Sun Rock Retreat laid at the heart of a small valley; a bustling town ready to welcome a travel-weary party.
