Maela was born and grew up in Kalsguard (formerly Zweibeldorf) but as an adult travelled to Vargenthorp where she served in the town guard and moved steadily through the ranks. Eventually she tired of city life and returned home where she formalised what little passed as a town guard and rebranded them the Blue Hand.
She is stern and no-nonsense but considered by her recruits to be just and fair.
