A moderately successful mercenary leader who founded and captained the Company of the Blackened Cross. Lesser known but in his spare time Karlos Beck was also an aspiring author, having written several short novellas 'based on true stories'.
Karlos fought in the Battle of the Jester King where he saved the life of Johannes Kal, preventing him from falling as the battlements collapsed beneath his feet. Johannes gifted Karlos with his own red hat (having earlier spotted an even more flamboyant one that he fancied).
Unfortunately Karlos met his end at the Battle of Clach Duhn, he was misled by Sabine Wren and wounded while battling the heroes; he later apparently died from his wounds (but was in fact finished off by Felix Rex).
His last novella, the Battle of the Devil's Crack was published posthumously and has become extremely popular in Bumbleton.
