Getting Thorin's boat out of the Ominous Lake

After a few hours in the lake, the group will discover that there is no way out along with the boat. They will either decide to leave without it or try and construct a contraption that will carry it back to sea.

Once they discover that the boat is stuck, Tsernoth will say that there might be a way out for the boat as well using a spell from the Spellbook of Bowgentle called Bowgentle's Fleeting Journey. He will also mention that this spell is the reason they came here in the first place.

If the group chooses to go along with him, Tsernoth will explain that this spell only teleports living beings, but he may try and alter it to be able to move the boat as well. A Young Bronze Dragon flies overhead, whenever Tsernoth finally studies the teleportation spell, he will have to cast it as a ritual which will take 10 minutes to cast. The ritual must not be interrupted, if it is interrupted the spell will go wrong and the boat along with everyone on it will be cast to the Astral Plane.

In the Astral Plane, the party will emerge out of a silver portal in the sky along with the boat to the Astral Sea.

Tsernoth, being a master necromancer, knows the Astral Plane and will be able to provide guidance on what they need to do to get out.

• Finding a silver astral pool in the Astral Sea will take 11 hours, with psychic winds happening every hour. 
• A group of 3 Githyanki Warriors riding Red Dragon Wyrmlings roams the Astral Sea, they will raid the party on the 9th hour, right after the psychic wind hits.
  If 2 of them die, the last raider flies away into the mist - going to call reinforcements to help retrieve the loot.
  The Githyanki Warriors just came back from a raid and carry loot split evenly among them:
  • 90pp, 360gp, 270ep, 1050sp - while each warrior carries: 30pp, 120gp, 90ep, 350sp
  • Dwarven Thrower
  • Ioun Stone (insight)
• Minutes before reaching the silver pool, the mist clears away and the party will be able to see an Astral Dreadnought following close behind them.

After diving into the silver pool with the boat, the party will emerge at the sword coast, as if popping out of the sea with the boat, but they will be dry because they actually popped up of the Astral Plane. It is smooth sailing back to Neverwinter from there.

• Tsernoth will tell Eldes Young he'll gladly work for him in The Academy Land and head towards Phandalin.
• Skippy the skipper of the boat will take his money and leave for his home.
