Similar to the The Bormas in many ways, The Southward Isles have followed a very different path. United under their Great Chief they have for the most part managed to shrug off the dominance of the greater powers and maintained a relative independence, both by their reputation for being extremely fierce in battle and also their clever diplomatic playing off of the various factions against one another.
Ethnically and culturally they are closer to the First People dominated The Garden Isles than the more Annish Antilles and Bonny Isleders. The Southwarders maintain strong diplomatic ties to the Garden Islanders
