The library was founded by the Hendon family in the second great wave of building when the city transformed from wood to stone. It houses old books and even has a historical exception granted by City Hall to house a small number of magical books that are regarded as having historical value. These books can only be accessed by scholars under strict conditions.

Inside the rooms have high ceilings and many shelves that can only be reached by layered walkways like scaffolding that allow students from the university to walk beside their shelves.
