The Port city of Pearl is a bustling small city located in the heart of Єдність // Unity. As the capital of Unity, Pearl is home to many important government buildings, but its primary function is as a major port city, connecting the various islands of Unity to each other and the wider world. The city is divided into two levels, known as the Lower Decks and the Upper Decks.
The Port City of Pearl - Lower Decks are situated at sea level and are connected to the island and city of Marinna by the Euros Gates. Here, visitors will find the House of Trades, the largest building in Pearl, and the headquarters of the United Gathering, the government body that governs Unity. It is also the location of a prestigious restaurant known as the Orchid Blossom. The Lower Decks are home to the Storage Houses, the Cartographers Guild Office, the Market Square, and Customs, which guards the entrance to the Безпечна Гавань // Safe Harbour where many ships dock.
Безпечна Гавань // Safe Harbour is a district of docks located just outside the main city of Pearl, and is considered "international waters" where any ship can find a safe haven and purchase assistance or repairs. The area was originally intended to serve as a secure location for political meetings, but has since become a somewhat lawless part of the city that is often frequented by pirates and other outlaws, since Unity itself has been known to host political meetings between other
countries and take a share of the profits or praise for doing so.
The area is separated from the main city by the Customs operated by the Blue Jackets, who conduct inspections of any ship and crew attempting to enter Pearl proper. Regular and expected ships would bypass 'Safe Harbor' and head straight to the Pearl docks. Despite its unsavory reputation, 'Safe Harbor' is still a part of the city that Unity benefits from and has an interest in maintaining. It provides a valuable service to those in need of assistance, and can be a source of information and opportunities for those who know where to look.
Port City of Pearl - Upper Decks are situated above the Lower Decks and are accessible via the House of Trades or the Pearl Plaza. This level of the city is where one can find the Aftcastle, a tower that houses many of the city's apartment complexes. Additionally, the Upper Decks are home to the Mage Guild, the Gold Wheel Casino, the Dock Master Quarters, the Unity Navy Academy, and the Blue Jackets Headquarters.
The most prominent landmark in Pearl is the Crystal Lighthouse, which can be seen from nearly every part of the city. This magnificent crystal structure is a beacon for ships entering and leaving the port. It was grown artificially and features a complex lighting system that illuminates the surrounding area at night.
