Gnomes are a race of small humanoids with a natural talent for magic. They have a reputation for being quirky, eccentric, and a little unpredictable. They love to tinker with machines and gadgets, and are known for their fondness for pranks and practical jokes.
Mechanics:
- Ability boosts: Gnomes get a boost to Charisma, as well as one free ability boost.
- Size: Gnomes are Small creatures, which means they have a smaller reach than Medium or Large creatures.
- Speed: Gnomes have a base speed of 20 feet.
- Low-Light Vision: Gnomes can see in dim light as though it were bright light.
- Fey-touched: Gnomes have a natural connection to the First World, a realm of magic and fey creatures. They gain a +2 racial bonus to saves against illusions, and they can speak Sylvan.
- Weapon Familiarity: Gnomes are proficient with the gnome flickmace and the kukri.
- Gnome Magic: Gnomes can cast the ghost sound cantrip once per day as a primal innate spell. At 5th level, they can cast invisibility once per day.
- Ancestry feats: Gnomes have access to a variety of unique ancestry feats, such as "Chaos Magic" (which allows them to add unpredictable effects to their spells), "Gnome Weapon Expertise" (which increases their proficiency with gnome weapons), and "Gnome Weapon Innovator" (which allows them to create new weapons).
