Salvatore is an only child and not a well loved one, his mother died in childbirth and his father has blamed him ever since. Once he was old enough Salvatore left Vodacce and became a mercenary in Eisen where he met Ulrick von Holtz, he fought in the War of the Cross for several years until an ill-fated campaign cost him his eye.
He has returned to Vodacce and, though he remains estranged from his father, he has spent several years building up good will and serving under Prince Donello Falisci.
