Zaz quietly pulls Sarith aside and asks him to turn him in to the Zhentarim
- it frustrates Sarith that Zaz assumes he would do this
- Sarith asks why Zaz even wants this, shooting down all of Zaz's arguments to convince him to just turn him in
Dibrael finds them and Sarith reveals what this secret meeting is all about
- Sarith has a bad coughing fit; Dibrael and Zaz force him to accept healing, making him assume he now owes them something
- Zaz explains that he's a curse and is the cause of every bad thing that's happened to the party so far; Sarith calls him an idiot
- Dibrael and Sarith tag-team to convince Zaz not to turn himself in or surrender to the slavers
- they assure him he has friends in the group who will chase after him if he leaves
Off-Screen: Zaz and Dibrael explore the market
- Zaz tells Dibrael about his nomadic life before he was dragged to the Underdark
- Zaz tells Dibrael about his goddess, Aerdrie Faenya
in the afternoon, Skjorn searches for Jorlan and asks him if he's thought about his offer
- Skjorn relates to him and the two realize they have quite a bit in common
- they are both nobles, raised to see others as lesser and treat them badly, but they are slowly learning that their worldview is incorrect
- they are both dissatisfied with their lives, feeling lonely and restricted even though they have/had access to luxuries
- Jorlan asks Skjorn for his name - a promising development
- Skjorn gives some decent arguments in favor of switching sides
- since the city is on lockdown and he is outnumbered, Jorlan asks Skjorn to persuade the party for him so he can at least enter the inn safely tonight
back at the inn, Zaz admits to Mylz that they had an encounter with the Zhentarim earlier and he's concerned for Skjorn's safety
shortly after, Skjorn arrives and gathers everyone together to talk about Jorlan
- Party debates on the pros and cons of forming an alliance
- they decide that if Jorlan joins them, it will be to their advantage - but he will be under surveillance
- they also plan to interrogate him using tongues of madness
- Eldeth storms off to her room and wonders if she would fare better on her own
unrelated, Junior calls Sarith "dad" for the first time, followed by Skjorn calling him a "DILF"
Zaz and Dibrael check on Eldeth
- Eldeth admits that she considered parting from the group out of fear of being enslaved again
- they successfully convince her not to leave
later that night, Skjorn plans to tell Jorlan the good news
- before he can leave, Mylz takes Skjorn upstairs and disguises him as her son
- Skjorn and Mylz both meet up with Jorlan and explain the conditions to him; he agrees
at the inn, Jorlan is interrogated about the following:
- why he's willing to work with them, what doubts he has, and if he's going to betray them
- Ilvara's plans and her weaknesses
- how he fights, if he has any spells or items that can be used against the party
- ...the Party ultimately agrees to let him stay, and Jorlan temporarily wanders off to de-stress
Skjorn prepares to woo Jorlan whenever he returns
- Jimjar goes out for a smoke, finds Jorlan, and tells him Skjorn is waiting for him
- Jorlan finds a ridiculously cheesy display in Skjorn's room, laughs, then kisses him
- Mylz interrupts to get her things out of the room, give the men some water, and leave some bananas from Jimjar (no one knows how he got them)
- Jorlan and Skjorn have sex (it's Skjorn's first time)
