Location: Neverlight Grove
after Basidia's tour, Zaz asks if it is willing to talk about what's going on in the grove
- Basidia says it was planning to speak to the party in private, and they should seek it out later
Skjorn and Jorlan, who are both high, try to sneak rations out of the party's supplies
- they're caught by Ront, who is easily bribed with stolen jerky
- Skjorn and Jorlan hide behind some mushroom trees and snack on their bananas, which are somehow always fresh and replenishing
- Skjorn says he'd like to learn more about Jorlan's past; Jorlan considers it
Derendil approaches Ront and asks for advice on how to use his gun, since Sarith is too sick to teach him
- Derendil accidentally points the gun at Ront and then at himself; Ront feels obligated to teach him proper firearm safety
- after practicing, Derendil earns Ront's respect and Ront shares the jerky with him
- Zaz stops by and Derendil offers to share his half of the jerky; Ront quickly eats his own so he doesn't have to share more
Dibrael approaches Sarith and worriedly asks how he's doing; Sarith says he's fine, just tired
- Dibrael quietly asks if he wants any healing, to which Sarith responds "don't waste it on me"
- Dibrael presses further until Sarith gives in; he's too tired and too sick to keep being stubborn
- Dibrael heals Sarith of his exhaustion and he starts to feel more like a person
- they discuss what Sarith thinks of Neverlight Grove now, as well as what it used to be like
