Mylz sets up camp and decides she is no longer going to hide who she is; she sheds her disguise
- Topsy and Turvy ask how she's doing and invite her to dinner; Mylz agrees to join them, but she must check on Zaz first
Zaz takes out his hearing aids but continues to have auditory hallucinations
- Dibrael, who is trying to comfort him, explains to Mylz that the genasi uses hearing aids
- Mylz writes a sentence in the dirt and tries to get Zaz to read it, but it's too distorted
- Zaz tries to say he is fine, just tired, but it's clear that he's scared; Dibrael and Mylz don't know how to help
Skjorn asks again about Jorlan's past
- Jorlan leads them somewhere more private before asking what Skjorn already knows about drow
- Skjorn explains that he was warned about drow being dangerous, but he still flirted with the first one he saw and ended up captured

- Skjorn muses that Derendil was probably a wimpy twink before he was polymorphed, and Ront laughs loudly and obnoxiously
unable to get through to Zaz, Dibrael asks Sarith to try communicating using Elvish Sign Language
- Sarith agrees to help, feeling responsible for the madness since he led everyone to the grove
- Mylz reveals that Zaz uses hearing aids and directs Sarith on what to say to try combating the hallucinations
- Zaz starts to have tactile hallucinations and begs to be knocked out
Sarith remembers that Jorlan has drow poison and asks him for it using ESL
- Dibrael encourages Zaz to drink the poison and it immediately puts him to sleep
- Sarith explains what was in the vial and that it isn't dangerous; he asks Jorlan for more but that was his only dose
- Dibrael asks Sarith to teach him Elvish Sign Language and Sarith agrees
Dibrael promises to look after Zaz and the others leave to do their own things
- Dibrael preens Zaz's feathers until he wakes up
