Location: The Underdark
Party prepares to head to the Surface with a group of 5 deep gnome guides; their names and faces are entirely forgettable
- they are headed for Mithral Hall, which takes 8 days to reach on foot
- Glabbagool decides to stay behind in Blingdenstone and help clean up by eating trash, debris, and other slimes
- Lemondrop will not follow Party to the Surface, since its appearance tends to frighten people
- Topsy & Turvy announce that they will come along to see Party off before heading back home with the escorts
- Yuk Yuk, who is now dating Turvy, is going to stick with the twins; Spiderbait will follow him wherever he goes
- Jimjar will stay in the Underdark; he has "places to be"
day 1: Party comes across a group of deep gnome children gathered around an injured adult
- the oldest child explains that they were accompanying their mother to work when they were suddenly attacked by a monster, which their mother fended off
- Zaz heals the mother and offers her a potion; she gratefully declines and leads her children back to the city
day 2: Party triggers a large sinkhole and everyone falls in; Mylz and Zaz are the only ones who don't get hurt
- Party finds themselves in an abandoned mine shaft; on the tracks is a rusty cart full of dusty gems
- Mylz and Zaz approach to loot it (proposed session title: The Party Gets Tetanus), but it reveals itself to be a mimic
- after its defeat, Skjorn climbs onto the corpse of the mimic, wanting to ride the mine cart; Zaz casts Gust and sends him flying down the tracks
day 3: Party attempts to stay upright while moving down a muddy and flooded tunnel
- Skjorn immediately slips and gets separated from Party by the current
- Dibrael asks the gnome guides if this tunnel ends in safety; upon receiving a yes, he decides to slip on purpose because it's faster (and fun)
- Mylz joins Dibrael in sliding down the tunnel while Zaz stays behind with everyone else, floating above with his wings
- the tunnel eventually opens into a flooded cavern, where everyone swims to a ledge and continues walking
day 4: Party passes by an average-looking deep gnome who stands completely still and stares at them, unblinking
- the gnome doesn't respond to any attempts to communicate and gives off no magic aura; when touched, he disappears
- hours later, the gnome reappears on a high ledge
- Zaz flies Skjorn up so the latter can place a rock on top of the gnome's head; both the gnome and rock disappear
- hours later, Party spots the gnome standing on the ceiling of a cavern, rock in hand
- the rest of the day, the gnome repeatedly appears in everyone's peripherals but disappears when they turn to look at him
- while making camp, Zaz spots the gnome in between the nearby mushroom trees
- Skjorn casts Detect Thoughts but it fails; Zaz interacts with the gnome's rock and he disappears for the last time
- everyone has nightmares that night, but Mylz's guardian deva gives her the distinct feeling that they've avoided something dangerous
day 5: Party walks through a cavern with glowing fungi hanging from the ceiling like string lights
- Mylz and Skjorn recognize that somehow, these fungi have formed patterns of real constellations
day 6: Party has a sparring session at camp
- Themmie, Junior, and Rumpadump play fight while Derendil practices with his gun
- Dibrael and Mylz spar with weapons in a sort of "passing of the torch" practice; they tie
- Jorlan and Zaz spar with weapons; Zaz wins
- Turvy challenges Ront to hand-to-hand sparring in an attempt to impress Yuk Yuk; Turvy loses with a nat 1 to Ront's nat 20
- Yuk Yuk says, "I love a man who can't fight worth a damn," then proceeds to lose in hand-to-hand sparring against Spiderbait
- Sarith and Eldeth spar with weapons; Sarith wins
